Matt Gilman named PBC
Goalkeeper of the Week

AUGUSTINE, Fla. − Flagler College junior goalkeeper
Matt Gilman (Ocala, Fla./Jacksonville U.) was selected as the
Peach Belt Conference’s Goalkeeper of the Week for the period ending Nov. 1,
in a release by conference officials. Gilman was also named to the same
honor on Sept. 22.
Gilman led Flagler to a pair of conference wins, including notching his
fifth shutout of the season in a 2-0 win at Georgia Southwestern. He also
recorded two saves in Flagler’s 3-1 win over Francis Marion to clinch the
regular season conference title.
After last night’s 1-0 overtime win over North Georgia in the conference
tournament quarterfinals, he has six shutouts and a 1.16 goals against
average. He is fourth in the Peach Belt in goals against average and saves
(61) and is tied for second in shutouts.
Flagler, the top seed in the PBC Tournament, will take on No. 4-seed, the
University of Montevallo, on Friday at 7:30 p.m., at Blanchard Woods Park in
Evans, Ga., in a semifinal match. The winner advances to Sunday’s
championship match at 3:30 p.m.
